The Cole Family:
In-home Newborn Session
You know, there is a lot to say about photographers have a niche for certain styles of photography. I have avoided in-home newborn photography for a few years. Until, now. I've grown a lot. My confidence in my work has grown. Matt and Megan were my first to dive into this category after a few years and let me tell you, I don't know why I was avoiding it so much. Of course, you have to have a decent amount of natural(sun) light coming through. I don't use artificial lighting out of the studio. So, there are things to take into consideration when doing at-home newborn photography.
Don't let me fool you, I was nervous going into the session. Yep, that's right, after 10 years of photography I still get nervous. I deem myself the perfectionist and sometimes that gets the best of me. I'm working on that and I feel like I have really taken to loving my work. I've had endless hours of sitting with one photo trying to figure out where I am lacking. I think that goes to say that a lot of photographers feel exactly how I do. If you're not always trying to be better, you should. It's extremely rewarding.
Thank you to the Cole Family for letting me come to your home and capture your newborn's first professional photos. It is truly an honor to see new parents mold into the role. It's heartwarming. You guys will be the best parents!
The Walvoord Family:
Studio Newborn Session
Meet the amazing Walvoord Family. They came to me wanting the whole package and let me tell you, I'm so glad they did! I am so lucky to have the clients I have. I wish I could blog about every single one of them but, unfortunately, there is not enough time or space to do that. Highlighting certain sessions is totally random and I just choose base on session's I've done that day. Usually, newborn photography. I just love capturing those first moments of life. I miss those days with my own.
Baby Tucker is the sweetest and the best part, I get to see him grow his first year! His newborn session went great and I can't wait to see him for his next milestone. Jacob and Bailey first came to me for their maternity session. We went to Longview lake in Kansas City to get some pretty views of fields and water at sunset. Soon did I realize it was SO dark. Storms were rolling in and we had to work quick to get the photos in before it was too dark. Luckily, they turned out great and we avoided the rain. Even if I had to add a sun and sunset!
There was no challenges with this one. It was just a great day. Most the time my sessions will go off without a hitch and sometimes, I need to regroup! Being a photographer is the best! Not only do I get to do what I love, I get to meet amazing people along the way!
